Cisco and VMware have recently announced that the Cisco® Nexus 1000V virtual switch will be supported in VMware vSphere 4. The combined solution is designed to help customers simplify virtualization and network services management for cloud environments. This means that as of the April 21st VMware price list, the Nexus 1000V SKUs are available for quoting with availability on June 12th. The Nexus 1000V is part of the vSphere Enterprise Plus bundle and available to all VMware resellers and distributors, even if they are a non-Cisco partner.
