On February 4th, Citrix issued a press release announcing ‘Citrix Dramatically Improves Economics of Desktop Virtualization to Drive Mainstream Adoption’. The focus of the release was to communicate that one physical server had been verified to support 125 VDI based desktops, 500 hosted shared desktops, and 5000 local streamed desktops. This Competitive Flash is to help VMware Partner Sales Teams understand VMware’s positioning in regards to the announcement and to respond to customer questions.

Our latest video details booting into Windows Safe Mode in your guest operating system. Booting into Safe Mode is useful for diagnosing if an issue in a guest operating system is the result of a third party application or non-essential Windows service, or if the issue is with Windows.
You may want to do this when:
- The guest operating system or virtual machine fails
- The guest operating system or virtual machine stops responding and displays a blue screen (BSOD) with a stop code
- The guest operating system or virtual machine reboots for no reason
- The guest operating system or virtual machine has performance problems
- The guest operating system or virtual machine is slow
- The guest operating system or virtual machine has an application that is not working properly
- The guest operating system or virtual machine is experiencing networking problems
